What is Blue Light Treatment?

There is now a treatment available that doesn't depend on medication. It's called the BLU-U^® Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator Model 4170.

The BLU-U is a unique blue light that can kill the P. acnes bacteria in your skin. Treatments are simple - you sit with your face close to the light for a short time at a schedule set up by your doctor, approximately a 16-minute session about once or twice per week. The treatments may go on for five weeks or so. It's safe, it's not hot, it's not painful. After some weeks, the blue light can help control your acne.

Important Safety Information
The BLU-U light alone is FDA cleared for light alone treatment of moderate inflammatory acne. The BLU-U^® Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator, in combination with the Levulan^® Kerastick^® for Topical Solution, 20% is indicated for the treatment of minimally to moderately thick actinic keratoses of the face or scalp. Do not use this device with other photosensitizing drugs. Refer to the Levulan^® Kerastick^® for Topical Solution, 20% Package Physician Insert for additional information.

When using the BLU-U^® for acne, do not use this device with photosensitizing drugs.
