Levulan® Photodynamic Therapy

Levulan^® Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a powerful, patented, versatile technology platform. When delivered to target tissues, Levulan (aminolevulinic acid HCl), is taken up and converted by fast growing cells into protoporphyrin IX (PpIX), a potent photosensitizer, which is then activated by an appropriate light source, such as the BLU-U^® blue light photodynamic therapy illuminator.
